MATILDA-WILUNA GOLD OPERATION
The Matilda / Wiluna Gold Operation is located near the town of Wiluna, approximately 750km northeast of Perth. The Operation comprises over 1,100 square kilometres of tenements containing total JORC 2012 resources of 65Mt @ 3.1 g/t for 6.5Moz of gold. These tenements cover around 55 kilometres of strike along the Wiluna Mine Sequence and 10 kilometres of strike along the Coles Find Shear at Matilda. The Wiluna Mine & Coles Find Shear areas have historically produced 4.3 million ounces of gold.
All ores mined are treated at Blackham’s Wiluna Gold Plant. Since processing by Blackham recommenced in 2016, oxide ores have been sourced mainly from the Matilda and Galaxy mining centres but from 2019 ores will be increasingly sourced from the Wiluna and Williamson areas with annual production reaching a range of 80-100koz. All the deposits are within 26 kilometres by existing haul roads from Wiluna.
The majority of the large resource base consists of sulphide ores at Wiluna and feasibility studies are continuing with the aim of justifying a major expansion of the processing plant targeting a production level of 200koz from both oxide and sulphide ore treatment. Ore will be sourced through major expansion of the existing pits and through further development of the extensive underground workings at Wiluna.
In addition to the large-scale Wiluna expansion, exploration prospects at Lake Way, Carroll, Prior, Mentelle, and Monarch, provide the company with excellent opportunity for future discovery and resource growth.
